Spent some time poking the interwebs for some new musics and decided Minuit was a good place to settle. I’ve actually been so into what I’ve heard on Bandcamp that I’m even listening to the remix albums… something that rarely comes with positive results but these aren’t bad!
Take the time to poke at their website. It’s… unique.
For some crazy reason, Everclear happens to be the headlining band for the Seattle Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon &1/2. A band which I never would have been able to see in my high school years suddenly is going to be at the finishing line after I run 13 miles. Almost feel like I should put together a running playlist to get myself in the millennial throwback mood when I finish.
Oh the days before online music distribution and how those lists of CDs available through subscription music clubs tempted me. So glad that my parents never actually let me do that no matter how many albums I told them they could include with my order.
Threw together a few songs for the online scrapbook. Apparently nonsensical songwriting was the cool thing to do.
I don’t even remember how I stumbled upon them but they’ve grown on me this week. I’ve been on a hipstery-dance music kick with Two Door Cinema Club and the likes and I might have found Friendly Fires through some related artist thing. Either way, I’m a happier person.
Don’t know why but I think that, for the day, I’m going to go back to some of that insane hardcore and screamo from four or five years ago. It just keeps coming with the intensity and it kind of keeps my creative mood at an appropriate level. Now to hide in shame knowing that half the kids out there are currently listen to these bands and they have all probably put out two or three albums since what I consider their newest. The most recent Thrice album I know I’ve heard is The Artist in the Ambulance.
